WP8: Knowledge Management

The objective of Project Management is to perform overall project government and to establish and maintain a communication and controlling infrastructure. This includes the following detailed objectives:

  • Monitoring, tracking and controlling deviations due to progress, costs, financial and scheduling, changes.
  • Managing the project according to approved plans.
  • Ensuring that the required reporting is prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
    Implementing procedures for quality management.
  • Implementing an administration and communication infrastructure to establish a basis for efficient and easy communication within the project. To also ensure that external communication (project Web site, dissemination and exploitation) is done and controlled by the project management.
  • Successfully collaborating with External Organizations like EU Programs, NSFUSA, IEEE, NSERC-Canada, ARC (Australia), etc. and with the members of the International Innovation Advisory Board (IIAB)
  • Managing the activities of the International Innovation Advisory Board (IIAB) composed of independent international experts.

All tasks will be accomplished by using state-of-the-art management instruments and methods. This should facilitate an unobstructed and successful project and research evolution. The program management function will be performed by the Project Coordination Committee (PCC), which will be having both management and program steering functions, under the lead of the Project Co-ordinator (Schneider Electric Automation). Remark: The PCC meetings (initially scheduled each three months) will all time be associated to Technical meetings.

The program Steering Function of the PCC will particularly be supported by the International Innovation Advisory Board (IIAB). Foreseen is that the IIAB will be joining one Technical meeting per year. Despite of this face-to-face meeting, members of the IIAB will be invited to participate in other scheduled PCC-technical meetings. Moreover, members of the IIAB will be invited to participate in Sessions or Workshops that AESOP will organize in conjunction with NoE like CONET, ARTIST, etc.
